Experience LSVT – April 12 – Phoenix
The LSVT BIG Certification and Workshop trains physical and occupational therapists to deliver an intensive full-body, amplitude-based exercise protocol specifically designed for people with Parkinson’s. LSVT BIG utilizes seven specific exercises (which can be modified as needed) that can be carried over into activities of daily living. Research has shown this protocol to be effective for people with Parkinson’s for short term benefits including improved amplitude of trunk rotation and gait speed, balance, and quality of life. These benefits were also shown to carryover during a dual task (for example, completing a cognitive task or carrying a glass of water while walking). This type of practice is necessary to optimize learning and carryover of your better movement into everyday life!
