El Tour de Tucson

This will be the 11th year that the Arizona Chapter of the American Parkinson Disease Association has participated in El Tour de Tucson. Please help us make it a year to remember!

Funds raised by this event will be used to provide education, services, and support, and will also serve to raise awareness. The money you donate to the APDA is tax deductible.

As of October 29th, your donations are being matched by the PAUL FAMILY & PEACE SURPLUS!

The Paul family (Larry, Chris and Arnold) and Steve Chatinsky of PEACE SURPLUS in Flagstaff, pledged $2,000 in matching funds for APDA’s El Tour de Tucson team. Donate now and your contribution will be matched dollar for dollar. Give $25 and it becomes $50. Give $100 and it becomes $200. Make your donation through any participant’s fundraising page (links at right) to help us reach our goal of raising $35,000.

Please Volunteer!

Biking to Beat Parkinson’s: Meet Carl Ames

Carl Ames was told exercise could forestall PD symptoms; he went the distance.

Carl Ames pulls up on the Segway handlebars and the vehicle tilts back, then shoots off across the pavement. The effort Ames puts into a short walk is in sharp contrast to the ease and speed of the Segway. Parkinson’s disease has robbed his body of the ability to respond consistently to simple commands – stand, walk, turn, be still. And yet, Carl is riding in El Tour to support APDA. The funds raised in conjunction with our partnership with El Tour are used entirely in our state to underwrite our outstanding support groups and exercise classes for people with PD. Please donate today in honor of Carl and the others that ride on our behalf. CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL STORY
